I'd hazard a note of caution about using a Chevette tranny... they're made
by Opel (I think) but reputed to be weak.

Probably fine if you are using 1500 or less... Chev uses a 1600 OHC
engine.

If you can find one, go with Vega/Pinto.  They're a little older, but more
reliable.
