One thing to keep in mind, don't trust the paint chips either. I once bought a couple of paint chip brochures at a flea market only to find that the one that had been on the top of the pile had faded quite noticeably when compared to the second sample. In fact, neither matched the car that I was looking to paint and that car had (and still has) the original paint job. I know because I drove it ( a 1963 Falcon Sprint) off the showroom floor myself when my wife and I got married back in '63. Still have it, still needs a fresh paint job. Meanwhile the '54 TF 1250 rhd looks great in yellow (with a bit of green in it I think.) Had her out to get an ice cream last night. Dick Dell Raleigh NC |
