If your idea is to reduce speeds in Solo 2 (by any significant amount)
by means of tire restrictions, then you'll have to mandate much more
than just getting rid of DOT-R tires, considering that current model
Corvettes will pull 1.0g right now on their OE tires, and lots of other
fairly mundane coupes and sedans aren't far behind.

Yippee someone finally said this. I tried but my post got lost in the
ether.

Move the R tires out of stock to reduce the speeds on an autocross
course. Just like restrictor plates in NASCAR. These things need to
happen now not later. If an accident happens at one of those events
where a competitor is on R tires and it is determined that he/she was
over the appropriate limit we could be auto crossing pedal cars. The
insurance Nazis will drop SCCA like a hot potato.

High speeds belong in Track Trials.
