I used to go to the local NTB or NTW store as they originally sold me the
AR-24 wheels for my Neon and they "sponsored" me (sorta, but every little
bit is greatly appreciated) and would M&B my tires/wheels for free, even
after hours.

They did good work but every time I utilized their services their machine
would put 4 evenly spaced sets of triple-claw marks/gouges on the inside of
the wheel. Not a huge deal since they're "race" wheels but somewhat
disheartening none the less.

I now go to a local "rice boy" shop which sells the clear tail lights,
"race" pedal covers, 6" exhaust tips, 20" wheels and super low profile tires
for the cut-spring crowd. They know how to properly work with the super
expensive (I'm talking $4000 sets) of wheels so I figured they'd do alright
with my $75 wheels and $105 tires. Turns out they do EXCELLENT work without
any damage to the wheels and offer laser accurate balancing to boot. Which
if you're familiar with Neons is very important in preventing the steering
wheel from shimmying while you're driving down the freeway and making your
hands fall asleep. They do charge just a few dollars more than most other
local shops at $12 each to M&B (most local KC shops average $9-10 each) but
it's worth it as they actually know what they're doing and don't damage the
goods.

So, my advice is to go find a local "rice boy" shop. Geez, if they can
squeeze those 30 series tires onto 20" wheels they can surely handle our
"tall" race tires.

They still chuckle though when I ask them to flip my "bald" tires on the
wheel, so I can wear out the other shoulder. ;^)

How much is "average" to get tires mounted?

I cannot find anyone to touch Hoosier DOT radials for less than $25ea.
