Brian,

I had thought about the same thing, and then ruled it out due to the
fact that Mark had driven the car for so many miles and undoubtedly
filled the tank several times!

I didn't think about a "new" tank of bad gas...could very well be the
problem.

The carb cleaner trick will help resolve the fuel question.

Best regards,

Jim Swarthout

I would like to take a stab at this one...

I had a car that ran poorly all of a sudden. I checked points,
timing carbs, fuel filter, fuel pump and a bunch of other stuff
including the coil. The problem was water in the gas.
For a buck or two, maybe try a bottle of water remover.
(in Missouri we have it sold in every gas station as
gas line antifreeze... Don't know what they would call
it where you live!)

My guess is bad gas.
