Mystery solved! This item is called a "Pad, packing, between bonnet and
thermostat housing" Part # 617034 in the Factory Parts Book, page 79 in the
Body and Fittings section. No illustration.
I actually have a NOS pad that I ordered from TRF some years back, I checked
the website and it is now listed as 'No Longer Stocked'...bummer!
My pad is waiting the new paint job on the underside of the bonnet before
installation. The material is very much a wad of paper fiber stuff molded
into a hockey puck shape.
