Yes, and you can almost open the door with your left knee!

Check your floorboards and seat rail adjusters.  You may be able to
relocate the entire seat or move it back another notch (don't laugh, the
DPO of my car was kinda short and the seats could go back another notch- a
little difficult as they were rusted, but the BFH helped a lot)

Perhaps switching seat types may help too.  Do you know anyone with a TR6
you could try jumping into, to compare?

I am similar build as you and don't have *too* much trouble in my TR4.
(love is blind, I guess)  I did stretch the footwells as much as I could
when I welded them back up (1/2" here & there)

However, be aware that the TRs are among the biggest of the littlest- I
just DON'T fit in an MG. ('xept the BGT...)
