Carl, Probably because that's what sells now!
AND - Just because the "kits" include footwell carpets doesn't mean that the
original factory configuration had carpets. And that factory config didn't!!
I wish someone made the original rubber mats. They looked good and were a
heck of a lot easier to keep clean etc. Cheers.
