Didn't the original post mention that it was white smoke?  General rule of 
thumb....white=water.....blue=oil .   black=fuel.... I repeat...GENERAL 
rule!!!
Easy to check all of the above with simple tests.  Burning water should be 
detectable by a coolant pressure test. Oil burning by a compression test (for 
rings, not valve seals) A few simple places to start...........Good luck
