Agreed! If it ain't broke don't fix it...
If you limit the tires to OEM type, don't allow replacement parts etc, all
you do is cut out a whole lot of cars that won't handle worth a toot as they
sit on the showroom floor so you INCREASE costs because if you want to race
you would have to buy one of the few cars that would be even drivable. Then
to make those cars "fun" you'll have the same short sighted course designers
just making courses with larger/fewer turns and the speed just goes back up
but with less safe cars... Catch 22.
The insurance companies are NOT going to be dictating courses, they will
simply stop offering it if claims go up. We are VERY small potatoes to them
in the grand scheme of the insurance world.
