I had a valve job on mine a year ago. Head was to factory spec, and
not warped. Car ran WAY better after the valve job, but vaporlock
symptoms persisted. The only mod's I've got are non-smogged, EI
distributor and Ztherapy carbs, otherwise it's pretty stock.

Well, I think there's only a couple of us making a lotta noise :) .

OW, OW, OW!!! Sitting on black vinyl seats?!?! OW!!

Interestingly(?), I've NEVER had a temp problem either.

I agree! I was astounded when I pulled the return hose and found COOL
gas flowing back to the tank!

My conclusion/suspicion is that 'vaporlock' is a symptom-
description, not THE problem. Kinda like Dr's that can't figure out
what you've got so it "must be a virus". I admit I'm still baffled how
mine would *act* vaporlocked - lousy idle at traffic lights on a hot
day, and not when cold (or moving) and not be vaporlock. Anyway, I now
conclude that if I'm having vaporlock symptoms, something needs fixing/-
adjusting. I figure if the fuel flow is that cool, the only place it
could boil might be in the float bowls?
