I agree with Chip that Alan de C was quite cavalier in dismissing the
contact he made with the Connaught. with nary an apology for the
mishap, whether fault was present or not.  If it had not come into
the discussion it could have passed unnoticed, but as it is I retain
my original impression of him as an effete snob from some privileged
class whom I have  no desire to meet.
