Thread-topic: Changing oil filter with full oil system
Hey all- I went to change the TR4's oil over the weekend...drained the oil,
but went to change hte filter, (spin on adapter) and Ill be damned if I can
get it to budge...really on super tight...so I ordered a strap wrench. In the
meantime, I refilled it with new oil, and am driving new oil, old filter (no
flames all, its just for af ew days)..

The question- can I change oil filters without draining the oil all over
again? By eyeballing where I think the "cold oil level" would be on the
motor, I dont think this will lead to the "oil leak of death" out ofhte filter
housing...or am I way off somewher?

Any tricks to getting TR4 spinons, off? Cant access the top of the filter
either from above or below b/c of super cramped space...wont budge when I
twist with two hands...strap wrentch? Any other ideas? Easier when car is
hot or cold?

Thanks all!

N
