Greg:

A good plating shop will have its own machine shop
and take care of all bumps, dents, etc. before 
replating. Luckily I live 15 miles from Librandi's
Plating in Middletown, which gets business world wide.

BTW, having my bumpers and original luggage rack
rechromed right now.
