Another thing you can look for when powder coating is a local shop with
the tools (as I write this, I'm thinking that's what we're trying to
avoid... but oh well)

There used to be a shop that specialized in bicycles.  I bet they could be
persuaded to do manifolds.  I don't know if they're still in business.

Yet another chewable thought...
