Actually there were or maybe still are some transparent bras..more like
acrylic I believe. I have never seen one up close but are usually shown in
Porsche specialty catalogs- 911.

I actually do not like bras since they can chaffe (sp?) the paint surface.
However, the do offer some protection from bugs, debris. Nevertheless, there
is a product offered by The Wax Shop called bug and mud remover that can
help with bugs, etc. You simply spray it on the front of the car, it dries
clear, then rinse off after your trip...we get thousands of "love bugs" down
in my part of the country (Louisiana) and they are a pain in the *** to
remove from the paint and bumper surfaces. The bugs, mud etc just slip right
off with the rinsing.
