I'll have to check my TR6 and see if it does the same thing.  But, off the 
cuff, I have heard that the input and output flanges of drive shafts with 
twin universal joints must never be co-axial or horrible resonance will set 
in.  So, in other words, a kink or offset should have been designed into the 
driveline.

I'd expect any of these problems to exhibit much more observable 
symptoms--like nasty vibrations, a car that won't go straight, or grinding, 
rumbling noises.

If there *is* a problem, though, one other option is a body that no longer 
sits squarely on the chasis.

Sorry not to have more concrete data.  I'll write back if I can substantiate 
or discredit this...  Otherwise, good luck!
