As noted, it is more efficient at producing higher pressure air. In turn
the higher pressure lets more air be stored in a given size of tank. That
can be really nice if you are running tools that take more air than the
compressor alone can produce, since it gives you longer run times before you
have to stop and wait for the compressor to catch up.
