My apologies. I just went out to the garage (braving, I might add, near
sub-zero temperatures <grin>) and checked the PB Airline again. What I
found was mostly dirty black copper pipes. HOWEVER, under all that muck,
I did find traces of plating. I would certainly say it isn't chrome. I
would even say it wasn't nickel. It looks more like a terne plating to
me. A very thin silvery finish, not bright, but looking like a tin/lead
coating (which, of course, is what terne plating was).

The L/P/N petrol pipes that run up to the reserve valve, they are
chromed or 
nickeled, right??  Those are the ones that run up the firewall.   Chrome

nickel??
