Checking various photos I can find two different cars that look like
plated pipes, others look like plain copper. Mine in the PB (untouched
for the last 40 years) were plain copper. However, I do have plating on
one of the oil pipes, the others are copper.

There now, I've confused matters nicely, don't you think?

The L/P/N petrol pipes that run up to the reserve valve, they are
chromed or 
nickeled, right??  Those are the ones that run up the firewall.   Chrome

nickel??
