Okay Phil, my turn to tell a story. I call it the Nygaard
Solution.

When I first got the snake I really appreciated how comfy the seats
were compared to the Healey I'd owned previously. Only problem was that
I needed a tad more leg room. I'm 6' tall so I decided to check with
the Nygaard twins (John and Paul who co-owned CSX2577 and are a couple
of inches taller than me) to see how they had coped with this problem.
Simple, sez John, just take your knock-off hammer a whack the hell out
of the fender wall behind the seat on the drivers side and the seat will
go back another notch or two. So I followed his suggestion, and sure
enough, he was right. The only problem was that the seat could be moved
so far back that eventually one of the rails poke through the fender
leaving a gaping hole just at the "water line".

Recently I got to thinking about this and came up with a solution that
would still allow the seat to go back the extra distance plus be water
tight. I bought one of those small aluminum boxes used to mount
electronic components in at a local electronics store that's just the
right size to cover the hole and to clear the seat rail. Eventually I'm
going to have the box welded in place. I call it a Nygaard Box.
