I pretty much agree with Tony.... those marbles were pretty bad and make it
more like driving within the clean parts, not on the correct line. I dread
to think what it will be like in the winter.... get your full tread Kumho's
ready! I couldn't believe how clean it was in Vitaly's pictures, does that
mean we're tearing up the surface??? How long will they let us do that?

The start time (while fine for now and completely understandable) will be a
major hindrance as darkness starts arriving early. Note yesterday we were
running 31-33 second overlap for safety. Tony, Josh and I timed it! To do
anywhere near yesterday's attendance and be done by 4:30-5:00 after
starting at 10 we're going to have to get that number below 25. Do the
match and find out how many people you can run in 6-7 hours at 25s per....

The cold and wind don't bother me that much... it's just like
3Com. Alameda NAS would be just as bad. We can get a better PA system
that's still legal and that should solve some of the communication
problems. Location is ideal! BTW, looks like doing anything in Pleasanton
ever again is out as they just approved a big housing project and golf
course in the empty land next to the fairgrounds.

How to fix it? I unfortunately don't know. You can't limit entries
because then the afternoon people get screwed. You could limit selling new
memberships, but if people can just sign up over the web it doesn't fix the
problem. You can raise prices which could help our site fund, but that
would exclude some people that make good members of our club. We could
require pre-registration (even online) but that has it's own problems
(refunds, car breakage, weather, site cancellations, etc.). If all these
new members can contribute we could start adding more dates in the series
but then it makes it difficult to trophy for those who can't add more time
to their schedules. Note: by the looks of who has chaired this year I
would say generally that we're not getting as much help as we could expect.
