Eric,

Cutting off the roof is a pretty cool deal.  My next CP car....if there
ever is one will be built this way.  That said there are tricks that
I have seen builders like Charlie Clark use that allow them to get
a weld all of the way around every tube.  We did on my car.

Rocky's suggestion about welding the cage to roof is a great
idea, by the way.  If the rules you are dealing with allow it, weld
the cage to the roof, pillars, firewall....everywhere.
