We have done the Solo Group drag night thing with NeOkla once or
twice a season for 2 or 3 years now. What a hoot!!

Here in Tulsa, it is done on Friday nights, which the strip calls
"test-n-tune" night.

My car has no windows, no taillights (or headlights) the battery is
in the front (but stock is in the rear), and has long fuel lines also.
I wear my helmet, not because they ask me to, but because I
am so used to having one on in that car when it is being driven,
and as a noise suppression, of sorts.

The first time I pulled up to the pre-stage, the starter told me to roll
up the window - - I looked at him and shrugged. He shrugged back,
and staged me. The rules are relaxed on test-n-tune night, he later
said. I told him I would get a net, which DOES satisfy their requirement
(and someday I intend to)!!

I found that the 'Stangs and "Maros don't like being beaten by a normal
aspirated 4 cylinder, and that the drag folks are awed by a car with
slicks on both ends of the car!! I think that the SCCA crowd receive
as much or more attention than some of the single digit drag cars, and
overall we are made to feel welcome. It has brought some people to
our next event that may have never made it, so it works for recruitment
also.

It is well worth the $24 it costs for the wife and I both to play from 6:30
to 11:00 a couple Friday evenings each year, but overall axing is more
bang for the buck, IMHO.

Of course, since I am on digest, the rules for my class/catagory may change
before this gets posted. That type thing doesn't happen in any
orf the drag racing sactioning bodies - their rules are fairly stable.
