I had Metal Masters before, and now I run Carbotech SSF pads. The SSF (Super
Street F compound) have a little more friction thanthe Meatal masters for a
bit less pedal pressure, they work just barely warm and I have never faded
them. They seem much easier to modulate at the limit, the Metal Masters
seened to lock up easier and were tough to hold on the edge.
I have the greens on the rear, but I have rear drums. They do squeak a
little, not bad at all, and with a drum the dust is not a problem, with disks
it may be. They have alot more bite and work dead cold. My hand brake is
actually able to stop the car with athority now. Unless I run a full tank of
gas, the rears lock to easy, I added slotted rotors to the front and that
balanced it out a bit better. Don't even think of slotted rotors on greens.
Carbotechs are not cheap, but the SSF's work in any conditions and don't seem
to be wearing at all even on the slotted rotors. I am tempted to get them for
my minivan.
