I too have heard that this - I have a feeling it was suggested in 'BMW - A
History' which was published in the late 1970's - I'l check it out tonight at
home.
BMW definitely had small capacity V8s in production during the 1950 in the 502
saloon and 507 sports car - ars (not engines) can be seen at -
