Hi again all:
Thanks for the great response!  Good thing I asked about the mysterious
"Pre-war BMW/GM aluminum V-8" connection. No mystery there. I appreciate
all your responses!
Really sounds like a great engine--too bad it doesn't fit our cars.
Maybe my next swap project should be an MGB--and give my wife the Alpine
when it's finished :-)
