It's going to cost a lot more than you imagine.

I have a couple of engines with similar work done on them and the $$$ was
well in excess of $5k.

If you are honest and you do the math, it all adds up pretty quick
(balancing, $400 - pistons, $720 - machine block stuff, $600 - head work,
"the sky is the limit", but $2k get's you close with proper valves and
that sort of stuff)

I used to tell folks, $2k gets you a warm motor. $5k gets a fin motor and
$15k gets you closer to a hight HP motor... but you can't drive it on the
street.

To be honest, I've not seen the numbers Chuck has, but I've been trying to
deal with getting the motor to run leaner... but I have been running 28mm
chokes (I used to be limited to 28mm chokes by the rules I run with). Just
going to 30 or 32 mm chokes on the Webers will free up more HP, but they
all come in above 3k (where you DO NOT want your power for a street
motor.)

But at 10:1, I got 144 lb/ft of torque from 2000 to 6500. The curve was
almost flat (it sloped down a bit after 4500 or so).

p.s. now that the cam is timed properly, Stan and I will head to a dyno
(probably in OCT) to dial in a bit. I know I'm above 150 RWHP now because
I can pretty much roast my rear tires if I don't roll into the throttle.
