Your right, actually Kumho reccomends the 711 for ultimate street tire performance, Tire rack does not carry these YET but they are a maginitude better in all aspects except wet traction over the 712

One thing that I imagine should be taken into account about the tires in STS is what type of car they are going on. From what I have seen of Subaru's, they like to be driven a bit "loose" to be fast.
