It certainly is nice to hear everyone talking about Marlboro, and Cumberland as
well. I have a bunch of great memoirs of the racing, drivers and workers at
both places. Yenko in the Stinger, Dr. Dick in the Vette, Randy Canfield in a
Sprite, Tullius in anything #44 and white, Tony Adamowicz in a Ford Cortina and
a Spitfire, Sharp in a Datsun, and on and on.....

I also was one of those kids running around the outside of track and up & down
the grandstands. My favorite spots were down by the boot and the top of
uncovered grandstands. My Dad was the track announcer during the mid sixties
and I got to see some great racing from high atop the grandstands as well. A 12
hour and a white Dodge Dart come to mind. He also went through drivers school
in a Spitfire in 1965. I also have his 1965 Lavender Hill Mob Pit Stop
membership card!

Any Group 44 car and driver were my heroes and they still are. Which is why I
am prepping a '62 TR4 for vintage racing. I have a picture of Brian Fuerstenau
in a TR4 which I am going to use a templet for painting my car - complete with
Brian's name on the side.

I only got to go to Cumberland once but do remember Donna Mae Mines and her pink
TR3. I also remember not being able to see much of the track.

It was nice to read about everyone else's memoirs - Thanks.

Thumbs Up.
Steve.
