I can't say how happy I am to see everyones support for 
penalizing those who blow through yellows!
I don't know how you SCCA guys do it, but in NASA
the offender gets booted from the event and then
has to do 1-2 weekends of corner worker duty to
earn the right to get back on the track.  Amazingly,
the number of "I'm color blind" incidents has dropped
dramatically.  An added benefit is that those penalized
develop a deep appreciation of the work the corner workers 
do.  A freind of mine had the pleasure of working turn 5
at Thunderhill in mid summer.  He says he lost 3 pounds that
weekend.
