Greg!

Please don't!!!!
The rear axle of 3.27 that you've got in your Spit won't stand it!
Not for long anyway. Believe me - you've seen the calculations and
drawings... Remember the design was originally for the SC four of
less than a litre and just about no horsepower at all...

But if you're serious - the design I sent you will _probably_ stand
the torque requirements from the alloy lump. I've seen it done by a
guy from Gothenburg, Sweden about 10 years ago. But he used a
limited slip 4.11 with a five speed Rover SD1 (?) transmission and
a _lot_ of modifications to the car - mainly to the frame and to
the brakes. And of course to the hood. He had to take out a hole in
it to accomodate the aircleaner and the Kugelfisher PI system. But
it was FAST, man was it fast between the red lights! Less than 900
kg and 250+ hp! As far as I know the car was later wrecked racing
down the quarter mile, in "Street modified" I think.

Down to earth again...
I could send you pictures of a 3.27 that virtually disintegrated
behind a 2.5 litre PI engine. But they'll only make you feel sad...

And the owner didn't even thank me for it.
