Mike,
My nephew just turned 30, and it's taken him about 5 years to do the upgrades
(he's a supermarket clerk). He enters the car in a lot of low-rider shows, and
has won 1st place in his category several times, and his car made it into
magazine articles. What these kids do their 90's cars really puts our roadster
shows into a pauper category.
He's got murals painted on the outside as well as the inside. Built-in
super-stereo, naturally. But also a built-in video system with large TV. He
parks it over a mirror, and hits a button to activate the air hydraulics to jack
up the car so everyone can see the chrome and gold under the chassis. Everything
sparkles, top and bottom. You wouldn't believe the picture albums he's shown me
of the low-rider shows. Gorgeous scantilly clad gals draped all over him and his
car (a couple topless, ooh). I knew there had to be some payback for all that
money.
As I said, $10,000 into our roadsters looks cheap in comparison!
