As a cornerworker at the event, it appeared to be quite a success.

Friday started off a little late, as most "temporary course" problems
surfaced, but were adequately handled by race promoter Dan Verstuft. The
track was same as last year, a duplicate of the Pamona circuit of the early
years. The only change was the "opening" up of the chicane onto the drag
strip. This proved to be a major improvement according to the drivers I
talked too.

VARA seems to be getting quite efficient at running thier events. With the
large entry, there were 9 vintage race groups (no "guest groups" ran this
year). Each group got 2-20 minute sessions each of the three days, with the
afternoon sessions on Saturday and Sunday being races. Also included on
Sunday was the USRRC race which fielded about 30 cars. It should be noted
that this race was won by a female (not ment to be sexist, just
congratulatory!), Tara Bettie driving a Corvette.

VARA also seems to be cracking down quite hard on bad driving. Lots of
people were sent down for a day, or even sent home for "stupid" mistakes.
Overall, fairly good driving, with minimal incidents (except the poor FF
driver who met with a tire wall).

Weather was great, as mostly overcast skys kept the temperature quite nice.
