Hi Randall,

The stats your quoting are from conventional "Roots" style 
superchargers. The original Roots style were just air movers , the newer 
designs compress the air as well creating more efficiency & power 
through the full rpm range. The current design, Twin screw 
blower/compressors are turning numbers of 70-80% adiabatic efficiency. 
Lots more air moved with out high heat gains. They also suffer from less 
parasitic power loss than older designs.
Turbo charging also has trade off's with exhaust backpressure robbing 
some power and raising temps.
I agree that for maximum horse power in an all out war , turbo charging 
will win because of higher attainable boost levels.
