Webers are fussy to set up because they have scads of different
adjustment posibiities to allow each venturi to be dialed into that
cylinder if needed. A Weber that does not have good low or mid response
is not dialed in properly. However poor timing or cam characteristics
affect how an engine will run in different RPM ranges.
Personally I think it is hard to beat the stock SUs that come on a TR3
for a combination of power clear across the RPM range, fuel economy and
ease of adjustment. You have to get a pair of Webers dialed in closely
to match the SUs at all RPM ranges and approximate the fuel usage.
