I've used paint remover (Aviation Brand?) ususally purchased in gallon
cans.  Paint it on, lay saran wrap over it (or a dry-cleaning bag) and
let it stay for about one half hour.  Remove the saran, apply a second
coat, wait a little longer then remove with steel wool on fiddly pieces,
or a putty knife on flat sheets.  Clean up with lacquer thinner.  Worked
very well but is not considered enviromentaly friendly.
