I'll pass on my encouragement.  The list is a great place for info, and
comfort.  I bought my first TR last June, and have been getting it right ever
since.  I don't do much myself, but I do tinker a lot, mostly on electricals and
simple stuff.  I sought out a good mechanic who does the rest.
Just give yourself lots of time, get it driveable, and have fun with it while
you get it to your liking.
