Ted,
I have 3 floor jacks.  I spent $60 for my first floor jack (a cheap Sears
unit), the second was a $20 unit from the local parts house.  It was just as
good as the cheap sears unit.  My third is the 3 ton unit with heavy jack
stands, this is far superior to either of the other units.  I wish I had
spent the extra money to begin with.  I would have saved hundreds of hours
in time with the bigger jack, it's easier to position,  raises higher and is
simpler to raise.
