Hi Jim
engine should be a 948cc, twin SU carby's, G or Y prefix on engine No. but
who knows ? it may have had an engine swop at some time engine parts are not
interchangeable with the spits untill the later bigger engines.
Spitfire engine and G/Box should fit in when you change suspension turrets
from a MK1 spit. as the 948 engine was mounted on the chassis whereas the
1147cc & later were mounted on the suspension turrets.
Diff & 1/2 shafts should fit in with no trouble you may wish to reset the
rear spring to a "softer" feel.
while you are fitting the front suspension from the spit grab the disk
brakes as well
and put in some fuses!
I'm silly enough to say, give it a home but try to knock the price way way down!
