That sounds about right for a TR4 stateside. I ordered my TR4 in New York
for pickup at the factory in June '64. The price was US$2526. I shipped it
from Bremen, Germany about a month later and I think that cost about
$200-$250 to Newark, NJ. Had the car from June '64 to June ''76, when I sold
it. In Sept '91 bought it back from the same guy (who had only driven it
about 10k miles and had it in storage from ''78-'91. Now it is a daily
driver.
