My 1980's have no driver side sag. One has been lightened, the other is bone
stock.
On those Spitfires I observe suffering from obvious leaning, when talking to
the owners not a one has ever had a full 4 wheel alignment done to the car.
Some have had a spacer in the right front spring perch. Others have shown crash
damage or simply some bizzare stacks of shims in the front a-arm mounts.
There does seem to be a total rear end sag that afflicts the later US model
runs. Since the front bumper actually weights more than the rear, I don't
think the weight of the rear bumper is the complete cause. It may well be that
the later rear spring was made of a poorer material.

Alternatively, anyone with a later "Federal" Spitfire that has been "lightened"
by removal of the extra bumper weight? Do you still see the "sag" over time?
