My experience, especially with impact guns has been quite the
opposite. When my Harbor Freight cheapie just makes noise, my Craftsman
(made by Chicago Pneumatic, I think) removes the nut. And there are other
brands/models that can out-torque the Craftsman easily. I can't comment
about your Snap-on experience. Maybe there was something wrong with
it. Usually stuff like that is made for them by one of the major
brands. It may be overpriced, but usually it's decent stuff. BTW, I
bought the Craftsman from the "reconditioned" pile, years ago. Saved a few
bucks that way.
