Well, no. Vermont is very like Minnesota. The concrete will eventually
warm up again.
That cold slab at my old garage is part of the reason I built a shop I could
hold at 50 all winter. The floor is not frigid in my shop. All the tools
are not frozen when I pick them up. After all those years of dreading short
projects in the garage, of listening to a torpedo heater, of breathing
kerosene fumes, of watching what condensation was doing to the cars, this
really nice.
Given my druthers, I druther have a heated slab, but I saved a lot of cash
by having about 80% of my new shop's floor the existing floor of the old
garage, not to mention the back wall and 80% of the side walls. (Also, I
didn't need to find a home for the Lotus and all my junk during
construction!)
