If you care to participate, e-mail me with the following details:

Your name Bob Grunau
Your car type (M, PA, J1, J2, etc.) J2, J-3017
Your engine number 1815AJ, original
The original (or lowest level) engine paint color Not known, engine
was stripped, rebuilt when I got the car.
The current engine color (be specific to shade) Dark Red, the engine was
looked at on my work bench by
Henry Stone in 1985 and as I recall he said it should be red.

Also have complete J2 engine 2573AJ left over from a Sprite engine gearbox
swop on J2, J-3646 ( no, I didn't do it ). Block has been stripped and
repair welded so no paint. However, head and nose piece are painted a medium
green but underneath on both pieces are traces of red paint. So I think I
have at least one, maybe two votes for dark red engine paint on J2s.

Regards, Bob Grunau
