The Roadster chassis is a modified P310-P311-P312 Bluebird sedan
chassis.
The square flat structures with 4 threaded holes are where the engine
mount
brackets bolt onto for the E-1 1189cc engine. (the big hole in the
middle
seems to have been strategically positioned so that when you drop a nut
or
bolt from anywhere in the engine bay it will fall into that hole, never
to
be seen again)
On the chassis rails, near the chassis number, there are 2 slightly
raised
tubes that descend through the chassis rail. The front suspension member
on
the Bluebird is bolted onto the chassis, with the bolts going through
these
tubes and through to the front suspension member, rather than welded
onto
the chassis like the Roadster. The main difference between the Roadster
and
Bluebird chassis is that the Bluebird doesn't have the big X brace that
the
Roadster has. It also has a round tubular steel rail at the rear of the
chassis instead of the rectangular box section.
