        I have appreciated it when a fell netter mentioned that he had
        bought a what'sit from so-and-so and the quality was poor and 
        advised against our buying it.  This has been helpful.  It may 
        be difficult to mention situations like that in the future if
        those companies are all on the net.

I don't see why this should be difficult. If the companies are smart,
they'll learn from the comments!
