Miq mentioned the "Pink Feater Inn"...? It is, in fact, Madonna Inn
in San Luis Obispo and is fun. There are rooms all different and even
if you do not stay there, check out the rest rooms in the main building.

Stop at Pizza Port in Morro Bay, walk through town in Cambria and stop
at Hearst Castle. Nepenthe is a nice stop before you get to Big Sur
and Monterey.

Now for the obligitory British Car comment. The highway from Monterey
to San Luis Obispo is one of the world's greatest sports car roads.

It is twisty and turny all the way with some wide open stretches that
allow speed. Some of it is cliffs dropping hundreds of feet straight
down into the ocean and some of it is through redwoods hundreds of feet
overhead. The best time to drive it is week days evening or early
morning. Otherwise there are too many "homes" blocking spirited
progress.

Not to start a favorite road war, but this one ranks up there with
your own favorite.

Michael
