"Question: My clutch _barely_ disengages. The pushrod is attached to
the middle hole in the fork lever. I tired the outer hole (to reduce pedal
effect) but it wouldn't disengage fully there. I haven't tried the topmost
hole yet. Note that the previous owner installed a new clutch soon before
I bought it (supposedly) and appears to have put in a new clutch master cyl.
For the time being, i'm getting good at rev-matched downshifts. :-) Any
ideas? Should I bleed it, try the upper hole, something else?"
When I was still in the wrenching business for a livelihood, I had the
occasion to replace a TR-6 transmission for a customer. When I got all
done, the clutch would barely disengage. It turns out that the end of the
shaft from the clutch slave had been worn down over the years, although it
_looked_ okay. It was just shorter than it started life by about 3/8". I
had someone with an oxy-acetylene setup braze some metal onto the end of the
shaft. Voila. The clutch worked fine thereafter.
Don't know if that's your problem, but maybe.....
