when i had a girlfriend that moved to the mission district of san francisco
some years ago, one of the first things i did was call up my agent and lower
my deductable to $50. the cost was an additional $1 per month (i think my
entire premuim was $16 for 6 months), and i got the whole side of my car
repainted for $50 after my lock got screwdrivered a month
later.

the short story: i just asked them!

> Okay, now here I am lost: how do you lower your decuctable? I talk to my
insurance agent, and he just throws words at me, and I nod and smile and
sign, and then I can't afford to get my car fixed.
